WHAT WE DO

Fire Hydrants

Residential, Commercial & Industrial

Maintaining Reliable Firefighter Water Access

Private fire hydrants should be maintained in a condition that allows the Fire and Rescue Service to locate, access and operate them efficiently in an emergency. DRFSC provides routine inspection and servicing of private fire hydrants across residential, commercial and industrial sites to help ensure they remain accessible, functional and ready for use. Our engineers inspect all accessible hydrant components where applicable, assessing condition, operation, accessibility and identification while identifying signs of deterioration or damage that may affect performance. Where underground chambers are present, their condition and accessibility are also reviewed. All findings are documented and provided following completion of the visit, giving building managers and responsible persons a clear record of the condition of their hydrant infrastructure.

BS 9990:2015 Compliant Servicing

All works are completed in accordance with BS 9990:2015, with full documentation and certification issued following each service visit.

Nationwide Service

From single buildings to multi-site portfolios, our engineers provide nationwide coverage with consistent service standards across every location.

Same-Day Certification

We understand the importance of compliance documentation and provide certification and service records on completion of each visit.

Customer Feedback

Our work speaks for itself across every service we provide, from dry and wet risers to sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, hose reels, fire pumps and automatic opening vents. Read our reviews to see why building owners, developers and contractors trust DRFSC to deliver on the most demanding high rise fire protection projects.

Flow Testing & Remedial Works

Confirming that a hydrant is present and mechanically serviceable is only part of the picture. Flow testing provides a practical indication of whether a hydrant can deliver the pressure and flow performance expected of the installation and can help identify issues that may not be visible during routine inspection. DRFSC carries out hydrant flow testing and records the results to help identify reductions in performance that may indicate deterioration in water supply conditions, restrictions within the system or faults affecting operation. Where remedial works are required, whether replacing damaged components, repairing hydrant chambers or coordinating with the water authority where appropriate, DRFSC manages the process through to completion and provides full documentation of all works undertaken.
